Pre-K through High School. Beginner to champion. Folkstyle to Olympic styles. Boys & girls.

There’s a place for every wrestler at Uintah. Whether it’s their very first time stepping on a wrestling mat or they’re chasing championships, Uintah Wrestling has a program designed to meet athletes where they are and help them take the next step.

Our developmental pathway starts with learning through movement and play, progresses into competitive wrestling, and continues year-round with opportunities to grow through folkstyle, freestyle, greco and beach wrestling.

4th–9th Grade | Beginner–Advanced | Boys & Girls

Tradition. Development. Championship Wrestling.

Our Jr. High program is the heart of the Uintah Wrestling developmental system and welcomes wrestlers from beginners stepping onto the mat for the first time to experienced athletes competing at a high level.

Athletes develop strong fundamentals, advanced technique, match strategy, conditioning and the mindset necessary to succeed in competitive wrestling. With a tradition that includes 6 consecutive state championships, our program combines high expectations with an environment focused on individual growth and team success.

Whether an athlete wants to learn the sport or pursue championship-level goals, this is where wrestlers learn how to train, compete and win the Uintah way. The primary focus is to prepare athletes so that they’re ready to compete at the high school level.

Best for: 4th–9th grade wrestlers of all experience levels who want to develop and compete.

When: Monday-Thursday after school until 5:15, Fridays 12:00-2:00, September 28th through February 13th.

**Kids in fall sports may start at a later date, however, the final start date for the Jr. High program is October 19th. Any athletes who have not begun practice by that date must join the Mighty Utes.

FREESTYLE & GRECO

FREESTYLE & GRECO

Spring | Olympic-Style Wrestling | Boys & Girls | All ages

The season ends. Development doesn’t.

When the folkstyle wrestling season ends, Uintah Wrestling transitions to freestyle and Greco-Roman- the two international styles of wrestling contested at the Olympic level.

This program is designed for athletes who want to use the offseason to expand their wrestling, learn new positions and develop skills that carry directly back into folkstyle.

Wrestlers are challenged to become more explosive, more creative and more comfortable competing in every position.

For athletes serious about taking their wrestling to another level, spring is where some of the biggest growth happens.

Best for: Wrestlers looking to compete, develop year-round, make significant offseason gains and travel on our international tours.

When: 3 times a week, February 22nd through the end of April (Freestyle/Greco state date is TBD)

SUMMER WRESTLING

SUMMER WRESTLING

Freestyle | Greco-Roman | Beach Wrestling | Boys & Girls | All ages

Train hard. Have fun. Keep growing.

Summer Wrestling combines continued freestyle and Greco-Roman development with the fast-paced and exciting environment of beach wrestling.

Beach wrestling brings a different energy to the sport—short matches, simple rules and plenty of competition in a relaxed, fun atmosphere.

Summer gives our wrestlers an opportunity to stay connected to the sport without the intensity of the traditional season. Athletes continue improving their technique, athleticism and competitive instincts while having fun with their teammates.

It’s wrestling with a summer vibe—and a great way to keep getting better without burning out.

Best for: Wrestlers who want to stay active, compete, have fun and continue progressing throughout the summer.

When: Twice a week, May through August (International tour date and location is TBD)
